Summary

WOW! I wish I would have had more time to discover and take the time to develop a feeling of ease using everything. But now that I know what is out there I will explore as much as I can. There were so many diverse and interesting items to find. I had no idea. I am really glad that I was able to participate in the 23 things. It was a great experience developing and relating with others in my branch about our findings.

Week 8 Online Application and Tools

I looked at some word processing and spreadsheets through online productivity tools. These items continue to be very useful at home as well as at work. In exploring the web 2.0 awards list I looked at the Library thing (thelibrarything.com),and findory.com. Anything you want it is out there. Just do a search and someone is probably writing about it for your personal reference! WOW! But seriously, technology has put a new light - vision into every subject. It is something we cannot ignore.

Week 7: Wikis

Wikis are being used by libraries in very innovative ways.It is a very simple online database. Some reasons they are so helpful are anybody can delete, add or edit what is in them. You can keep track of what has been changed and who did it. Previous versions of the item can be seen and looked at when you need it.

Week:6 Tagging, Folksonomies and Technorati

del.icio.us is a collection of everybodies' favorites. It can be used for keeping links to my favorite articles, blogs, music, reviews, recipes, and alot more. The site del.icio.us is full of bookmarks about technology, entertainment, and lots of useful information. It will keep my bookmarks online. The tags organize and remember my bookmarks. I can organize my groups such as research, wishlist, podcast, vacation and reciepes, etc. Just a few ideas of what I can use this site for.It is a social bookmarking website, allowing me to store and share bookmarks.
Technorati monitors the conversations in blogs, pictures and videos. They search and look at tens of thousands of updates every hour, and monitor live communities and conversations they develop.
